David founded the firm, in 2001, with the goal of providing financial advisors access to a variety of "best-in-class" asset managers through a range of investment solutions.

Mr. Hooten oversees the firm's corporate strategies and works closely with the Claymore leadership team to continually offer innovative products in varying structures such as closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds and unit investment trusts.

Mr. Hooten has more than 20 years of financial services experience and previously served as Managing Director of Structured Investments for Nuveen Investments. He holds a bachelor's degree in Management from Northern Illinois University and is Series 7, 24 and 63 registered.
